Today, lots of beauty products mix their creams and lotions with dabs of honey. However, they are mixed with other chemicals which effects we cannot predict.

Here are some ways to use honey for the hair and the skin—minus the harmful chemicals.

Honey Exfoliant
Use honey as a scrub to make the skin soft and clear. Do this once a week. Use two parts of honey and a part of baking soda to be rubbed in the face. This solution is also great for a scrub for the whole bosy.

Milk and Honey Bath Soak
Use ¼ cup of honey and mixt it with 2 cups of milk. Then add drops of essential oil. Add this to a hot bath.

Honey hair shine boosting rinse
Rinse ¼ warm water with a spoonful of honey through the hair after applying some shampoo. Let it on for an hour. Rinse with water. Another way is to a teaspoon and a half of honey with 5 cups of warm water. Use this solution to rinse the hair.

Lemon Honey Facial Treatment
Since lemons are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, they are good against bacteria. What we do not usually hear is that they also contain alpha hydroxyl acids that can be used to exfoliate the skin. Slice the lemon in half. Remove the seeds afterwards. Then add a teaspoon of honey to the halves. Use them to rub all over the face. Leave it on the skin for at least five minutes. Use warm water to rinse the skin.

Honey Skin Lotion
A teaspoon of olive oil and a spoonful of honey mixed with a lemon squeeze can aid the dry skin. Let it on the skin for at least 20 minutes. Use a warm washcloth to wipe it off afterwards.

Honey Almond Body Scrub
Almonds and honey are good moisturizing ingredients. Crushed almond is used best for exfoliating purposes. Form a paste by adding 2 teaspoons of ground almond to two teaspoons of honey. Using a circular motion, rub it on the face.

Honey still has a lot of uses. It can be used to make honey masks and honey facial cleanser. Some stories attribute Cleopatra’s beauty with honey. Try any one of these treatments and have a firsthand experience of honey’s wonders.
