4 Baked Beans with Bacon and Bourbon

It can also be a good partner in weight loss management. Bourbon is a kind of whiskey, and in this recipe, it will be combined with the mouth-watering goodness of bacon and beans to create a sumptuous yet healthy meal that you and your family can enjoy.

Ingredients:
Bacon (6 strips; cut into bits)
Whole onion (1/2; chopped)
Garlic (2 cloves; minced)
Tomato paste (2 tbsp)
Brown sugar (1/4 cup)
Cayenne pepper and salt ( to taste)
Chili powder (1 tsp)
Salt ( 1 dash or more to taste)
Bourbon (1/4 cup)
Apple cider vinegar (2 tbsp)
Chicken stock (1 cup)
Green beans ( 1 can; 15 ½ oz size; lightly drained)
Garbanzo beans (1 can; 15 ½ oz size; lightly drained)
Kidney beans ( 1 can; 15 ½ oz size; lightly drained)
White beans ( 1 can; 15 ½ oz size; lightly drained)

Preparation:
Pre-hat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the bacon onto a large skillet and heat over medium-high heat. Let it cook for 5 minutes until it turns crispy then add the onions. Cook the onion for 2 minutes, then add the garlic and cook for yet another minute.

Add the sugar, cayenne, tomato paste, chilli powder and salt to your onion mix. Stir well then reduce the heat to medium-low.

Mix the vinegar, bourbon and chicken stock to the skillet. Stir well and cook for 3 minutes. Switch the heat off.

Add the beans with any remaining juices you still might have left to n 8’x8 casserole dish. Place the bacon mixture at the top of the dish. Combine the ingredients well. Cover the casserole dish with aluminium foil and bake for 90 minutes or more if need be until the beans are soft and the sauce thickened.

Salt to taste and serve.
