Color therapy is an alternative therapy using chi energies within colors. Also known chromo therapy, this therapy is applied by using color and light that affect mental, physical, emotional and spiritual being. Each color is said to affect a certain part of the body and mind.
Certain colors are said to affect chakras, energy and mental state of a person. It is said that using color therapy can balance out energy in the body.
Here are some of the colors used in chromo therapy and its uses:
Orange: Orange is said to be a cheerful and happy color. It is said to improve the moods of patients and lessen symptoms of depression. The physical benefits of orange affect the urinary tract, reproductive organs and kidney. Having too much orange color in your life is said to bring confusion, exhaustion and negativity.
Red: Red is said to be a strong and aggressive color. It is linked to boosting physical more than mental state. It is said to affect hips, legs and spine. It also increases circulation; improve congestion, sexuality, willpower and physical strength. Having too much red in your life can cause aggression and lust.
Green: Green is a color of calmness and purity. It is said to promote and stabilize emotional state. It is said to affect the chakras of the heart and is known to improve emotional health. It promotes love, compassion, trust and forgiveness. Having too much green is said to create fear of commitment, jealousy, insecurity, mistrust, low self-esteem and self-doubt.
Purple or Violet: It is known to be a warm but strong color. It is associated with mental strength. Violet or purple are known to increase wisdom, mastery, intuition, focus and spirituality. Having too much purple can encourage pride, lack of focus and arrogance.
Yellow: Yellow has been associated with the sun. It is said to affect the solar plexus chakra of the body. It is said to lessen the confusion, introversion, fear and lack of determination. Yellow is also known to boost the mood, increase intellectual health, improve the digestive system and create a balanced mood. Having too much yellow can cause hyperactivity and lack of focus.
Indigo: Indigo is said to affect the third eye and mental health. It is said to promote strength in the lymph system, immune system and detoxify the body.
Blue: Blue is said to give either a sad or calming effect on patients. It is known to affect the lungs and throat. It can increase verbal communication, will power and creativity. It is said to lower signs of anxiety, throat problems, insomnia, high blood pressure, migraine and skin irritation.
