So what should a vegetarian like you do when craving for the unique spicy and a little tangy taste of buffalo wings sans allowing some poor chickens to go wingless? Go for vegetarian buffalo wings, that is!

Cauliflower — it’s the single most important ingredient you need in order to come up with buffalo wings that are perfect for a vegan like yourself. You will hardly notice that it’s cauliflower that you are munching on!

Needless to say, having these meat-free buffalo wings served on the table is a great way to introduce more vegetables in the diet of children, but only if they don’t mind the kind of spicy taste that these treats have. (Although of course you may simply ditch the hot sauce, which is one of the ingredients to making the breading.)

Speaking of the breading, it’s also of utmost importance to keep it yummy in order for the resulting buffalo wings to taste so good that nobody would care that what he or she is eating is without any trace of a chicken wing. The secret to coming up with the perfect breading for some vegan buffalo wings is having the right blend of herbs and spices.

When breading is the subject matter, flour comes to mind. Definitely, gluten also steps into the picture.

Are you sensitive or allergic to gluten? Worry not because you can still enjoy some meatless buffalo wings without putting up with all the nasty symptoms of gluten consumption afterwards. That’s because all you have to do is simply get your hands on a gluten-free alternative, such as all-purpose flour that does not contain it.

However, for the vegetarian buffalo wings recipe that you will come across later on in this article, white rice flour is the one employed. It’s healthy and definitely devoid of gluten!

After having your vegan buffalo wings baked (yes, they’re baked and not fried, so you know that they’re super healthy!), one thing remains to be done before you finally serve your masterpieces on the table — whipping up the dip.

With so many possible dip choices out there, you can make each and every meat-free buffalo wings time a unique and exciting experience. But of course it’s up to you to find the perfect dip recipe elsewhere on the internet — although you may also opt for one that you have skillfully perfected.

So without further ado, here’s the easy vegetarian buffalo wings recipe:

1 cup of hot sauce

1 tablespoon of olive oil

2 teaspoons of garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon of paprika

1/4 teaspoon of salt

Directions:

Have your oven preheated to 450°F.

Wash your cauliflower heads under running water thoroughly and shake off excess water. Afterwards, have them chopped into several pieces. Set aside.

Grab a medium-sized mixing bowl and combine your white rice flour, soy milk, garlic powder, paprika and salt. Stir all of the ingredients until thoroughly mixed.

Coat every piece of cauliflower with the mixture and place neatly in a large and shallow baking dish. Afterwards, place the baking dish inside the oven and bake for about 18 to 20 minutes or until browned.

In the meantime, reach for a small mixing bowl and combine your hot sauce and olive oil. Mix very well.

Take the baking dish out of the oven and pour the hot sauce and olive oil mixture on the baked cauliflower pieces.

Stash the baking dish once again in the oven and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes.

Once done, allow your vegetarian buffalo wings to cool for a while and serve with your preferred dip.
