Organic foods are good for the health and the environment. No wonder it is so popular in the US market. Organic foods are pesticide free and contain no harmful chemicals. Consuming large amounts of pesticide in foods bought in the market can cause multiple health problems.

Going organic is proven to improve immunity, fertility, growth, weight and overall heath. Organic foods are great, but isn’t easily accessible. It can cause two times more than normal products. Do not fret, there are still conventional products in the market that can be consumed with little fear of harmful chemicals.

Fruits

  • Cantaloupe – you can purchase cantaloupe safely because of its thick and tough skin. This layer protects the inside of the fruit from unwanted pesticides. Cantaloupes works best as a refreshing snack

  • Avocados – are loaded with vitamins and nutrients. Avocados are a great source of potassium. Avocado’s creamy insides are protected by its hard outer shell.
  • Grapefruit – its peel, is known to guard the inside of the fruit from harmful chemicals in pesticides. Grapefruits contents are essential for blood flow and digestion.

  • Kiwi – When choosing between kiwi or peach during conventional shopping opt for kiwi. Peaches are effortlessly contaminated by pesticides unlike kiwi. Kiwis are rarely sprayed with pesticides.

Vegetables

  • Onions – According to the Environmental Working Group, onions have significantly lower amounts of pesticide residue. Onions are a abundant in antioxidants and is known to prevent of H. Pylori bacteria in the stomach.
  • Asparagus – it is one of the least likely vegetable to contain pesticide residue. Asparagus has copious amounts of anti-inflammatory agents and antioxidants.

  • Eggplant – are low in calorie and is filled with fiber. Pesticides that are used in eggplants do not infiltrate the skin and is easily washed.
  • Cabbage – you would expect cabbages to be riddled with pesticide, but in fact it contains very little to none pesticide residue.
  • Sweet Peas – have very little pesticide residue and is one of the vegetable with high fiber content.
  • Sweet Potatoes – according to The Center for Science in the Public Interest sweet potatoes are one of the healthiest vegetable in the market. It is tested to have diminutive amounts of unwanted chemicals.
