But before you start panicking, it’s important to note that two of the most common causes of cloudy urine are dehydration and an infection of the urinary system, and both of them can be easily remedied.

Provided that you are not pregnant and encountering nausea, vomiting, fever, high blood pressure, swelling in the lower extremities and elsewhere like the face and abdomen, blood in your pee, and an unusual discharge from your sex organ, then continue reading. Below are some of the things that you may do if your urine appears cloudy.

Drink Plenty of Water

Just like what’s mentioned earlier, one of the most common causes behind having cloudy urine is failure to drink enough water per day. So what you need to do is start hydrating your body properly by consuming up to 2 liters — equivalent to half a gallon — of water daily. It won’t take long before that cloudiness of your pee goes away.

Add Citrus Fruits to Your Diet

Having a bout of urinary tract infection or UTI can also make your urine to appear cloudy. To solve the problem, you may include oranges, lemons and other citrus fruits in your diet. Doing so will make your urine acidic, thus creating a hostile environment for bacteria in your urinary system.

Take Vitamin C

Supplementing with vitamin C is also a good idea for a couple of reasons. First, it’s just like consuming citrus fruits — it makes your urine acidic. Second, the intake of vitamin C helps make your immune system strong, and this enables your body to fight off the ongoing infection without any trouble.Consume Cranberry Juice

One of the most popular home remedies for a UTI is the intake of cranberry juice as it helps prevent bacteria from adhering to the inner lining of your bladder and urethra. Having bacteria flushed out of the body helps put an end to the ongoing UTI, thus also taking your urine color from cloudy to the normal pale yellow color.

Have Gooseberry Juice

Another juice that you may drink when suffering from cloudy urine due to a UTI is that which comes from gooseberry. Also known as amla, it is actually a very popular Ayurvedic remedy for an infection of the urinary system. You may also obtain amla in powdered form from an herbal or health food store which is taken with water.

Eat Parsley

It’s also a good idea for you to toss some parsley into your soup or vegetable salad upon noticing that your urine looks cloudy. That’s because the said vegetable has mild diuretic properties — it increases the production of urine. As a result, bacteria in your urinary system get flushed out of the body.

Snack on Plain Yogurt

Everybody knows that yogurt is loaded with good bacteria. Since there’s an infection going on in your urinary system, the intake of yogurt can be very beneficial. Just make sure that you opt for yogurt that is plain and unsweetened. You may also throw some fermented foods like kimchi, kombucha and sauerkraut into your diet.

JUST A FEW WORDS OF CAUTION: If your pee remains looking cloudy a few days after trying one or more of the above home remedies, seek the help of your doctor right away. This is especially true if you are in the family way or experiencing all sorts of other signs and symptoms that are clearly not normal.
