Home Remedies for Mosquito Bites

It is never pleasant feel the itchy bites of mosquitoes on your skin. When left untreated, the constant scratching of the skin might cause further infection and inflammation.

Take these simple remedies into consideration when bugged by mosquito bites.

Garlic
Rub a piece of garlic on the affected area. Garlic’s smell will also act as a repellant for the other mosquitoes. A little amount of burning will be felt but after that, a significant relief will be felt.

Salt Paste
Get a small amount of water and add salt (fine) until a thick paste is created. Use the paste where the affected area is. Iodized salt is best for this paste. You just have to be sure that the salt is ground finely.

Essential Oils
Oils are commonly used to bring relief to bites and other skin problems. Some widely used oils are rosemary, tea tree, lavender, neem, cedar oil, and witch hazel. Dilute a small amount of ail in the water then apply it to the bite.

Lime and Lemons
Lime juice is a great aid to bring relief to insect bites. Lemon juice is another option. Lemon and lime peel can also be used. The bacteria and dirt that may cause an infection is also prevented by applying this simple remedy.

Raw Honey
Use some honey to be applied to the bite directly. Honey is known for its great antibacterial properties which make it a good antibacterial agent.

Toothpaste
A small amount of toothpaste (especially neem-based or peppermint) will bring instant relief to the affected area of the skin. Let the paste dry and leave it as long as needed.

Onion
To take the sting out of the mosquito bite, you can use a slice of onion. Place it on the itchy skin until it subsides. Wash the area carefully afterwards.

Baking Soda and Water
Mix baking soda and water to form a paste. This simple remedy is effective against insect bites. Use as much paste as needed. The swelling and the itching will be relieved soon after the paste is applied.

Vinegar
A small amount of vinegar applied to the bump will bring great relief to the itchy bump. If the bites are too many, take a hot bath mixed with at least two and a half cups of vinegar.

Application of a dry bar of soap and aloe are also effective to bring relief from the itchy bites. Keep the hands clean and keep yourself from scratching the itchy area. Use these simple remedies to deal with mosquito bites.
