Homemade Body Scrubs for Glowing Skin

Most of us are quite dedicated to our skin care routine, that cleansing as well as moisturizing our skin has already become a ritual of sorts. Although there are several body scrubs that can be bought in stores, why not make your own instead? Here are a few body scrub recipes that are worth a try:

Sea salt body scrub

Sea salt is perfect as a body scrub because it is high in minerals and comes with exfoliating properties while promoting young and healthy skin. Using this scrub can actually improve your blood circulation too. For this recipe, you will need a cup of sea salt, half a cup of olive oil, and 5 to 15 drops of your choice of essential oil. You will need to mix all the ingredients in a small bowl until you form a coarse paste. You will need to cleanse your skin first before applying this paste on your skin. Massage the mixture using your fingers in circular motion for 5 to 10 minutes then exfoliate for 1 to 2 minutes. Wash it off afterwards.

Green tea ginger coffee body scrub

Green tea contains antioxidants that are known to help rejuvenate and exfoliate the skin. In this recipe, you will need to melt the coconut oil first before steeping the green tea in it. Add the fresh coffee grounds with a little bit of ground ginger, before pouring into an ice cube tray. Get one before you take a shower and rub it on your skin. Follow this up with a good moisturizer once your bath is done.

Oatmeal body scrub

Oatmeal is a great ingredient when it comes to exfoliating your skin, because not only does it remove the dead skin cells, it can also help nourish your skin as well. For this body scrub, you will need half a cup each of uncooked oatmeal, raw honey, and brown sugar, ¼ cup of jojoba oil, 4 drops of frankincense and geranium essential oil, and 2 drops of lavender essential oil. You should grind the dry ingredients first until you create a fine powder then add the liquid ingredients to it. Add the rest of the ingredients until you create a coarse paste. Cleanse your skin first to help remove any impurities, then apply this mixture to it. Massage the mixture in circular motions for 5 to 10 minutes. Wash it off afterwards with lukewarm water.

Herb and citrus body scrub

In this recipe, you will need some sea salt, coconut oil, mint, and lemon. Put sea salt in a bowl then add melted coconut oil in it. Include at least 5 mint leaves in your food processor with the zest of a lemon then process. Add this to your sea salt and oil mixture until blended properly. Now massage this mixture on your body for about 5 to 10 minutes then wash off.

As you can see, making your own scrubs is possible using several ingredients. You can make them any time you want and incorporating them into your skin care routine can help you maintain that beautiful and natural glow all the time.
