Rheumatoid arthritis affects millions of people all over the world. It is a type of joint disease that can be passed on because of genetics. It can affect the elbows, fingers, knees, jaws, and even the hips. Arthritis usually comes with pain especially when the joints and tendons become inflamed. When the swelling is not addressed, it can lead to deformity in the long run. Fortunately, there are natural remedies that can help deal with the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. Here are some treatments to use.

Water therapy

One remedy that you can use to help you deal with the inflammation and pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis is water therapy. In this therapy, you will immerse the affected joint in warm water for about an hour. The temperature of the water should be maintained at 93.5 degrees Fahrenheit which our body’s normal temperature. You should do this whenever the inflammation is triggered or when there is pain that you want to get relief from.


Another way to help reduce the inflammation or pain that you are feeling is to use turmeric. Turmeric contains curcumin which is known to fight off inflammation, pain, as well as any stiffness present in your joints. You can add turmeric to your meals or make a poultice out of it that you can apply on your stiff joints.

Aloe vera

Aloe vera is also useful in fighting off inflammation and even pain while boosting healing. Taking aloe juice can actually help enhance your immune system which can protect your joints against stiffness too. Another plus to aloe vera is that it helps in restoring and repairing your body from any damages it has incurred.

Hot water bag

Warm temperatures can help reduce the swelling in your joints that are triggered by rheumatoid arthritis. You can get a water bag and fill it with hot water. Place it on the inflamed joints and massage from time to time to help the heat get into the joints. This will help reduce the swelling that you are suffering from which, in turn, can make the pain disappear.

Eucalyptus oil

This is an ancient home remedy that has been found to be effective in reducing pain caused by arthritis. Start by warming a small amount of eucalyptus oil then apply it thinly on the swollen joint. Cover the affected area with plastic wrap so the oil will remain on the joint. Use a steaming towel to put some heat on the swollen area of your joints. You can do this remedy before you go to bed time so there will be less pain for you. This can provide relief to those who are suffering from extreme pain.
