There are days when our body seems to be riddled with pain that it is not unusual that you will be taking some painkillers just to be able to function normally. Although this does help with lessening the pain, being dependent on them can mean that you will be upping your dosage pretty soon. Also, what will happen if the pharmacy run out of this medication? What then can you do?

Fortunately, it’s not the end of the world, because there are other ways for you to eliminate the pain that you may experience from time to time and that is by using plants instead. Here are a few examples of plants that you can turn to.

Basil

Basil may be used in various meals, but did you know that it can help prevent heart problems? This is due to the carotenoids that it contains. Also, basil has magnesium compounds that reduce inflammation while boosting blood circulation at the same time. To use basil to fight off the pain, you should wash 10 to 12 basil leaves then crush them. Add a teaspoon of ginger rake then fry the two ingredients on a skillet over low heat until the leaves become soft. Pour a cup of water and let it boil for a few minutes. You can add a teaspoon of honey to your drink and sip it throughout the day.

Turmeric

Another option to consider when you want to eliminate the pain in your body is with the help of turmeric. This is typically used to in curry to give it a yellow color plus it also has a unique flavor too. The curcumin present in turmeric is a type of antioxidant that provides protection to the body to prevent any damage to the cells and tissues of your body due to free radicals. You can add this to your soups or prepare turmeric tea if you like to help alleviate any pain that you are feeling.

Sage

Sage is another option to consider if you want to get rid of pain quickly because of its anti-inflammatory properties. It can be used in cooking plus, you can prepare a tea mixture to soothe any pain you may be feeling. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried sage leaves in a cup and add boiling water to it. Let it steep for 10 minutes then drink afterwards. You should drink this solution at least three times in a day.
