If truth be told, cabbage actually possesses a rather mild taste, unlike other cruciferous vegetables that have very strong tastes that drive away so many kids and even adults. However, there is something about cabbage that makes it so blah, causing it to be so boring to consume.

1 teaspoon of caraway seeds

Directions:

-Before anything else, get your oven preheated to 200°C, which is equivalent to 400°F.

-Thoroughly rinse cabbage under running water.

-Carefully, cut cabbage into 1/2-inch thick slices. Make sure that you slice from the top to the base.

-Grab a baking sheet that’s large enough to accommodate all of the cabbage slices.

-Have the surface greased with extra virgin olive oil. Just like what’s earlier said, you may also opt for coconut oil. Actually, you may go for any healthy oil that has a high smoke point, which makes it suitable for roasting purposes. Some good examples are avocado oil, almond oil, peanut oil and safflower oil — any of these is perfect for the job.

-Neatly arrange slices of cabbage on the baking sheet. See to it that none of the parts overlap.

-Sprinkle them with ground black pepper, ground sea salt and caraway seeds. Again, the next time you make another batch of roasted cabbage slices, you may experiment with various herbs and spices. Some wonderful examples are basil, fennel, sage, cloves and paprika. You may use only one or a combination — it’s completely up to your imagination. The more you experiment, the better chances of hitting the goldmine. Fun!

-Place the baking sheet in the oven and allow the slices of cabbage to roast for 30 to 40 minutes. However, it’s a good idea to check them every 5 minutes or so just to be safe. You surely wouldn’t want your roasted cabbage slices to end up burned! Once they are beginning to turn brownish, take them out of the oven.

-Once done, transfer the baking sheet on a wire rack and let those yummy tasting and smelling cabbage slices to cool for a bit. Serve and enjoy!
