There are many reasons for why your sleep becomes altered, these usually occur when you end up sleeping so late at night due to insomnia, or it could also be a product of work schedule or jet lag. Sometimes because you are required to sleep late every night, this will already be the number one cause for your sleeping schedule to change.

But do not worry because this can be fixed. As mentioned, the body has a reset button, and it is quite easy to reset. If you do not know how to reset your body clock, here are some quick tips to help you get your normal sleeping schedule back on track:

Make a routine – When you go to sleep at night, always remember that you need to set a routine for yourself. For example if you want to go to sleep early at night, you must also make sure that you wake up the same time you went to sleep. Also remember to be consistent with the routines that you set for yourself, if you do not follow your own schedule to go to bed, this can lead to even more sleeping problems than what you started with. If you made a schedule for yourself to sleep early always make sure to follow it.

Keep your nights dark – Sometimes the common problem that you can encounter when you go to sleep is the fact that your room is not dark enough. Always make sure that you have a very dark room, so that you can sleep soundly without disturbance. You can also put some foam to ensure that your room is sound proof. If you live in an environment that is always noisy because you have neighbors who are too rowdy or you have family members that always have visitors over, this will be a good idea to have so that you do not end up waking up cranky all the time.

Always make sure that you work out regularly – Working out can help you get to sleep quickly. Exercise builds all your muscles and gets rid of excess fat. If you exercise regularly and at least 150 minutes a week, your sleep will significantly improve, even more so than before. Plus, working out will keep you alert the entire day, and will keep you attentive to any instructions if you work during the day. Always make sure that you time your workouts properly, because this can make a huge difference. For example you decide to do some cardio, running or working out too close to your sleeping time, can disrupt your sleep, so always make sure that you workout at a better and more convenient time, like in the middle of the afternoon or first thing in the morning.

Keep your mornings bright – Making sure that you also get the right amount of sunlight will trigger your body to get up on time. Light tells you that it is time to wake up, so if you go to sleep with a dark room, make sure that you leave a little bit of space for light to enter your room, to train your body to wake up when there is light.
