Salt has been avoided in many dishes today. In fact, foods with high salt content are regarded as unhealthy. Salt causes some organs in the body to malfunction. It causes deterioration of several organs and affects the overall health of the body.

However, what we do not know about salt is that it offers a huge list of health benefits when used as remedy. Check this list out and keep your body at optimum health with the help of salt.

Get ½ teaspoons of salt and mix with 8 ounces of room temperature water. Use a dropper and inhale the mixture through your nostrils. Use two or three drops for each try. Repeat a couple of times for each nostril. Once done, blow your nose until the nose is clear from all discharge.

Poison Ivy and Poison Oak
Soak the irritated skin in hot saltwater. This speeds up the clearing up of the poison ivy.

Bee Stings and Bug Bites
Make a paste of salt and water. Use the paste to apply on the affected skin and dry. This should bring great relief to the pain and itch.

You may also mix equal parts of salt and baking soda. Use the solution to brush on to the itchy area caused by a sting of a bite from insects. You can also try salt and lard.

Postnasal Drip

There are so many helpful remedies that salt offers. Since it is an ingredient commonly added to food, it is always available and convenient to use. Keep these in mind to promote overall health and to bring relief in cases of discomforts mentioned above.
