It may be difficult to think that food and tanning go together. Some people argue, but some experts say they do. Here are some of those foods that boost your tan.


Grilled Food

When cooked properly, the benefits of your tan is increased with grilled food. Use olive oil and spread it on meat and fish. You may add red wine and soy sauce, and even balsamic vinegar. In grilling, the process keeps the meat lean. Olive oil and monounsaturated fats contain revitalizers and regenerators that help the skin by maintaining it properly hydrated and healthy.


While grilling food, keep away from watercress, parsley, and citrus undo the efforts in tanning your skin.



Being rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin D and Vitamin E, eggs are great because they are regenerative and revive the body and skin. Vitamin B6 is a great revitalizing agent present in egg yolks. Vitamin B6 along with Omega-3 and Omega-6 prepare the skin for a tan.


Add white cheese enrich your daily diet with calcium. Foods that are rich in Calcium are known to have great tendencies to make tanning faster.


Carrots and Other Vegetables

For a great beautiful tan, the carotene content in carrots offer the most effective benefit possible. When beta-carotene in the carrots is converted into Vitamin A, the skin is defended against sunburns and supplies the nutrients that protect your skin. Carotene is a great support to melanin, the substance responsible for the skin’s darkening because of the sunlight. Most artificial tanning products use carotene. Other products that help the skin for tanning are tomatoes, zucchini, and peppers.

Mangoes and Other Fruit

The sun’s rays are attracted by the Vitamin A in the skin and as a result, provide the skin a healthy glow. Peaches and melons are other fruits with Vitamin A. Watermelons offer great water content.
