Usually, there is no need for us to force ourselves to pee — the body will tell you when it’s time for you to head to the toilet. In some instances, however, it is required for us to do a number 1 right away, such as when a doctor requests for us to undergo a urinalysis or we are about to take a long road trip.

Here are some tried-and-tested tips to make yourself urinate in a snap:

Walk for a While

It’s a good idea for you to take a quick walk around the block if you need to pee. Actually, engaging in just about any mild to moderate physical activity can encourage urination, such as climbing the stairs or jogging in place.

Don’t forget to take deep breaths while busy carrying out the physical activity of your choice.

Take It Easy

On the other hand, instead of doing something you may not do anything at all. Look for a quiet corner and sit down. Close your eyes and take slow deep breaths to help your mind and body calm down — it’s not uncommon for us to have a hard time peeing when under pressure.

If you are into meditating, then it’s something that you may employ to make yourself pee.

Guzzle Down H2O

Everyone knows that drinking lots and lots of water can make you pee after a few minutes. However, not too many people are aware that drinking water while attempting to pee can actually help encourage urination.

Try it — while sitting on the toilet, drink a bottle of water!

Hot or Cold Water Exposure

While having a stab at peeing, allow your hands to come into contact with hot water. If hot water is not your thing, opt for cold water. You can either place your hands under running hot or cold water, or immerse them in a small basin that’s filled with hot or cold water.

Experts say that it works because the sensation encourages your urinary bladder to empty itself.

Listen to Trickling Water

If you don’t want to get your hands wet, that’s okay — all you have to do is let the faucet run for a while and listen to the trickling of water. Many swear that this is something that causes them to pee in an instant.

Got an app on your smartphone that gives off nature sounds? Play the sound that a river or stream makes.

Tap, Tap, Tap

Your urinary bladder is situated in the lower part of your belly, somewhere in between your belly button and pelvic bone. It’s exactly for this reason why tapping on that part of your abdomen using your fingertips can help stimulate peeing — tap on it repeatedly to make yourself urinate on demand.

For best results, experts suggest for you to tap every second for half a minute.

Or Stroke Your Inner Thigh

While sitting on the toilet, gently stroke your thigh. Use only your fingertips to make each and every stroke as gentle as possible — the gentler the stroke, the better this trick works.

By the way, it’s a good idea for you to do this while you are leaning forward for superb results.

Sniff Peppermint

Are you into the use of essential oils for dealing with nausea, stress, anxiety or any other problem? If you need to pee right away, reach for a bottle of peppermint essential oil and take a whiff of it.

Some people say that placing a few drops of peppermint essential oil on the toilet works like magic.
